rich people, poor people All got Dreams...

Wed Dec 23, 2009, 3:11 PM
hey everyone! The lyrics in the title are from the song I'm listening to :] So I haven't written on here since December 15th.. whoa. That seems like a really long time ago. In any event.. I wanted to write one more journal before Christmas and I'll be at my dad's later so I figured this was my last chance. Haha that sounds dramatic. I don't remember all that I've done since my last journal, which was on a Tuesday night. Hm. I actually do remember that the day after that, the 16th, was the annual winter choir concert, which I love going to because everyone always sings such nice Christmas-y songs. I really liked our music, too. We sang this jazzy version of Its Beginning To Look Alot Like Christmas and it was fun to sing, even though most of it I was just singing "badoo, badoo, do do do do" and other such random things. Haha alright anyways. Yeah so that was cool, even though at the end one girl fainted cause she was feeling sick beforehand and the stage lights, etc. made it worse and that worried me; it was kind of a sad end to the concert. But she was better the day after so that atleast was good. The next day.. was Thursday! Actually, that was a really good day. Afterschool there was art club but the only people who showed up were me, Jess, Noreen and Scott.. and I didn't actually have much of anything to do so I worked on a self portrait in acrylics which I ended up using for one of the 3 self portraits that I have to turn in in January as my final for painting, since it's a semester course. Yeah and we listened to the Princess and The Frog soundtrack on youtube as we worked, haha, and our teacher was in a good mood so he showed us these other videos on youtube and tried to use that song-recognition thing that comes on phones to try and find out the name of the song, but we didn't actually have the music so he sang it, haha. Needless to say, it didn't work. But we actually did end up finding out that the song was "Tom's Diner" by Suzanne Vega. Catchy stuff. I don't remember what we did that weekend. Nothing particularly great, I don't think. Or remember, anyway. Yeah; I was at my dad's. That seems really recent. WEIRD. Yeah I had these Reader-Response Journals to work on for English that were due Monday and I procrastinated as most everyone does; I still had 5 to do and I'm kind of thorough when I write them so each entry takes me about an hour and a half. On the short side, haha... But yeah Friday for some reason we all went bowling.. it wasn't very fun just.. because.. haha long story. Sorry when I write stuff like that? There're just some things that don't go on the internet, right? No big deal. Just my life. This makes NO SENSE! :] Not that I don't like my life. Haha okay anyways. So then on Saturday I wrote THREE RRJS. THREE. I had written so much that my brain literally hurt. Before, I thought that was impossible. It's not. My brain was so dead that I typed "describe" like "dIscribe", and I sat there and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, haha. Oh my. Anyways, again. I watched that really sad movie, The Christmas Shoes, on Saturday night. Sunday I went to church at noon and then came back home to my mom's and worked on my last rrj! It was great, when I finished. Best feeling. My book was "The Chosen" by Chaim Potok. It's considered a classic, and it was really an awesome book. I'm actually going to the library tonight to get the sequel, aha. And I signed up for my next quarter's RRJ; I'm reading "Wuthering Heights". People have told me it's really awesome, so I wanted to get it. We'll see. Sunday night I watched Ratatouille and the beginning of The Incredibles on tv, haha. I love animated movies. So much... Monday I went to school and used the library to print my RRJ; IT WAS 37 PAGES LONG. Single spaced. Times New Roman. 12 pt Font. That's disturbing, people. But anyways!! Haha.. school has been good lately. Nothing fantastic, but still good, you know? :] I don't even have too much work over break. Monday night of this week I was really busy. Some people from choir went caroling at a nearby nursing home; that was really fun. And we played bingo with some crazy old ladies, haha. After that I went to confession at church cause we always go before Christmas and before Easter. I came home and painted some; I gave all my friends paintings for Christmas so these past few days I was painting furiously, haha. Especially Tuesday; my sister and I visited our dad and he took us to see the celebration of lights thing with our half brother and stepmom, and they yelled at us for random things that I don't even understand what's going on, as per usual.. I really don't mind that anymore. I think I said this the last journal, haha. But yeah. We got home later than usual so I stayed up kind of late painting. Wednesday. Today! School was good; didn't do much of anything in our classes. Our Western Civ teacher bought us doughnuts! Haha that was great. :] I've had so many candy and cookies lately that I think I might die. Yeah but I got really cool stuff from people! :] Rakela got me these cozy pants with snowflakes on them. I'm wearing them now! Whoa.. haha. Laura got me this beautiful gold necklace with birds and a white rose and a cross and pearls and a miniature locket on it; I wore it today when she gave it to me. I got a mix CD, an "ugly doll" haha, and a miniature hanging ninja figurine?? it was great.. from Kait... which rhymes. Oh man. I should stop talking. I got a colored sharpie set from Jess, a fancy oil-reed-ribboned air freshener thing and pretty photo album from Nikki. Why am I listing these? Sorry this is neverending, as per usual.. haha.. BUT YEAH. I don't really feel Christmasy.. AT ALL.. haha but I'm really happy, so that's okay. Just, I don't feel like listening to much Christmas music or anything, which by now I'm practically so spirited that I could be married to Santa Claus. But yeah; I'm even more optimistic than I used to be. Shocking. That's pretty hard to do. Haha anyways... MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYBODY!! I probably won't be on until after Christmas, so saying it now. Oh.. in about a half hour I'm going to the library to drop and pick up some books, then we're getting Sam and driving to Nikki's Christmas party. After that I'm going to my dad's and we'll have Christmas there, and then go to Christmas mass at around 6 on Christmas Eve. Then it's Christmas... whoa.. I love Christmas. Last Friday, the 17th, it actually snowed a ridiculous amount! So as long as it doesn't get too hot.. ITLL BE A WHITE CHRISTMASS.. which hasn't happened in a long time. I'm excited, haha. Alright. I can't believe I'm still listening to music from the Princess and The Frog, haha... Bye everyone! :]

they're Singing...

Tue Dec 15, 2009, 5:15 PM
Oh.. my.. goodness.. I haven't written a journal since the night of December 3rd, a Thursday. That was a pretty freaking long time ago, and I wanted to keep this short-ish because there's this show coming on at 8pm called "The Sing-Off" and it's only on today and tomorrow (and it was on Monday, too). It's a kind of Christmas special, without the Christmas, haha. But it's a contest only for acapella singing groups, which is kind of what I do, so I like watching it! I think that December is an important month to write about on here because it's Christmas and so nice to look back and read old journals, haha. But I'm kind of in a hurry and I don't want this to be 9839 pages long, so I guess I'll just go over big events or things I remember! First off.. so the weekend of the 4th I was at my dad's. On Saturday I got up at 8 and went over to Kait's and I went with her family and her sister's friend to see an advanced screening of.. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG! I had been so excited to see it, and we arrived at the wrong theatre and it was about 15 minutes until 10, when the movie was starting. We were going about 20 miles over the speed limit to get to the other place on time and we made it on time! We even saw a preview or two. IT WAS SUCH A FANTASTIC MOVIE. I loved it and was sad that the internet wasn't working at my dad's when I got back to download the songs. After the movie we got burgers and milkshakes and then I went back to my dad's. They were all making candy so I helped them for a little and did some RRJs for English class. There was church the next day but no youth group, if I do recall, haha. Sorry I don't remember all of what happened last week. It was pretty good, if I remember. Sunday night, I think it was, yeah.. that I watched some of The Chronicles of Narnia on tv. Either that or maybe Monday, haha. But then I doodled them all over my English papers. Thursday night I visited my dad, and Nikki's having this big Christmas party on the night of the 23rd; I asked if Caeli and I could go and we always have "christmas eve" at their house that night so we can celebrate it on the real day with our mom. Yeah he and my stepmom pretty much FREAKED OUT... so that was that.. haha. There was this big intense discussion, with lots of anger and tears and accusations and it reminded me of when I was a little kid and that used to happen about every weekend, haha. But now it's much more rare, these occasions. They used to really bother me, I would get anxious about them and it would make me really upset or whatever... but this past time, I didn't really care. It was pretty great, actually. I kind of feel like I'm a stronger person than I used to be? This is kind of deep for me in this here journal that the entire world could potentially access... hm so moving on. But yeah, I got some good drawings out of it! While they were talking I drew this angry girl and also this really sad little kid, which I ended up scanning and making smaller and using for this artist trading card we had to make for the field trip the next day! We visited a famous (as in, world-renowned, literally!) artist that lives about an hour and a half away. He was awesome and his work was really cool to look at; we got to talk to him in his studio and see his old high school sketchbooks and eat fancy miniature sandwiches and all that. The bus ride was fun, too, haha. We talked about random scary movies? On the way back I sat with Jess again and I was pretty tired so I just looked at all the scenery as we drove along, but then it got kind of dark. We listened to her ipod, and there was this really pretty song by a band named Bright Eyes. I have to remember to look it up. We got back to the school at around 6:30 and then me, Noreen and Jess went to Jess' house, creeped on people on Noreen's facebook, ate really good pizza and watched a little bit of a special she taped on the Princess and the Frog's animation and Disney studios animation. Then we left to see.. THE PRINCESS AND THE FROG! For me, AGAIN! Haha but it was great. On the way down we were blasting Christmas songs, dancing and singing to Feliz Navidad obnoxiously loud, all that. It was so fun, though, haha. We got there pretty early and it wasn't even that crowded, so we got awesome seats, and we met Sam and Graham there. We saw all the previews. I want to see that new movie coming out called How to Train Your Dragon, haha. Sounds dumb, but its CGI/3D Animation by Disney coming out in March. Or Dreamworks, maybe not Disney. But it looks really awesome, is the point, haha. So that tv show is on.. so I'm going to try and end this, haha.
But anyways, The Princess and the Frog was even better the second time, unbelievably. Now that I had been listening to the soundtrack for a week, haha. The music is so fantastic and I'm still obsessed with it; I listen all the time... er.. yeah I'm pretty special. But everyone else loved it, too, so that was nice to finally be able to talk about its awesomeness with someone. After the movie I came back home and Sam came over but it had been a school day so we fell asleep really soon, haha. But I got to sleep in the living room by the pretty Christmas tree! In the morning on Saturday we ate orange rolls. The stand for my Christmas tree started to leak but Sam had an extra at her house so when we dropped her off later we got it from her and it works really well now! :] Yeah from 2-4 that day Sam came with me and Nikki so this "Sundaes with Santa" thing at my church where we helped the little kids make crafts and stuff like that while they meet Santa. Sunday there was church, and it had been really icy that day, like five people slid off the road by my house, so no priest could make it to the mass! Which I don't remember ever happening, so they did this shortened kind of deal.. it was different, but kind of neat to see and all that. It was the last youth group for awhile.. haha so on The Sing-Off the one group is doing that song "You Spin Me Round" acapella.. it's pretty good! I love this show, man. Okay so anyways! Yeah youth group. A woman who had had an abortion came to talk to us and it was interesting. We talked about it and all that and then we got Christmas cookies. :] Then Monday! Average day. I don't think anything too fantastic happened this week, considering its only Tuesday, haha. Monday night Sam and I went to see Nikki in her orchestra concert, haha. But they played a song from The Polar Express and afterwards.. we got more cookies! It was great. Today was an okay school day. Went to Target after school pretty quickly with my mom and sister. I didn't buy anything. More homework.. it was around 7 and I was finishing a short paper for English due tomorrow, we had to write on an "expository topic" and we could pick pretty much anything, so I signed up to write about animation! Haha that's how much I loved The Princess and The Frog. THAT MUCH. So I got to write that and I was just finishing when my mom, who had just left, called me and said to look outside and it was snowing! I started jumping up and down singing at loud as humanly possible.. my poor sister. Yeah but I finished my paper and all that jazz.. went upstairs and stared at the snow outside some more while I listened to both the Princess/Frog soundtrack and Christmas songs, haha. So this evening has been pretty fantastic. And now The Sing-Off is on! But I do have to vacuum the house.. I forgot about that. Hm. I'll wait until a commercial break. Okay; sorry this journal was so badly written; I was in a hurry and I just wanted to remember everything? If that makes sense, haha. So the next acapella group is singing VIVA LA VIDA! Coldplay! Okay, even greater. Goodnight :]

The Citadel in the Sky..

Thu Dec 3, 2009, 7:12 PM
haha is that not one of the most wonderful words you have ever heard? Citadel. Citadel, citadel, citadel. Definitely more fun to say than it is to type or even read. I've heard the word before but I was just sitting on the couch and I looked over at my sister, who was on the computer, and she had her book sitting there and without my glasses or contacts I'm pretty much blind, so I thought it said "The Citadel in the Sky" but it was actually "The Catcher in the Rye". Failure. But it was funny, and both are rather pretty titles, if you ask me. Anywho. So life lately has been pretty fantastic, actually. :] My last journal was this past Tuesday night. I remember saying that I had a great day and wanted to write on Wednesday to say why exactly but now it's Thursday and I forget what all went on that made it so great, haha. But all three school days this week have been awesome. So Tuesday was good. School; Tues. and Weds. I skipped lunch to finish working on my digital self portrait painting for Painting class. We were back in the art room from the mac lab on Tues afternoon so that was nice; I was getting kind of sick of painting in Photoshop. I prefer the real thing or using Photoshop to edit photographs. That night I vistited my dad; I worked alot on an oil pastel piece of an orange sky and blue mountains with Mary on a donkey and Joseph, like the Nativity Story? I never finished but I kind of changed it into an acrylic painting just with a couple instead of Mary and Joseph as a Christmas present for one of my friends. Anyways! Yeah Tuesday at my dad's I listened to Odyssey again, haha. While I oil, or sorry, it wasn't oil, but chalk pastel-ed that picture. Ah! I just found that Josh Groban "Believe" song from the Polar Express on youtube. My sister's choir is singing it. I love that movie. I never used to, but last year I found that I absolutely love it. And all the music, too. Getting sidetracked again! Oh, haha, and another funny thing happened at my dad's on Tues. We were finishing dinner and my dad turned on the tv, and Jeopardy was on. The final question topic came up as "Political Philosophy" and then they came on with the question, it was some subtitle of some 1700s French philosophical paper, and the contestants had to write down the actual title. I said I didn't know the title, but just guessing, I said the writer was Jean-Jacques Rosseau, and my dad gave me this look like "uh yeah nice guess, whatever", but then they went over the contestant's answers and said that Rosseau wrote the paper! I got really excited cause it made me feel smart. Why did I share this story? Usually I wouldn't. Haha moving on.. that was just funny.
Wednesday was a good day, too! School was great; in Painting class we're starting *figure painting* and that was our first day so our teacher gave us only 15 minutes to paint him, and that's what we'll be doing for awhile now. Every day we do two fifteen minute acrylic paintings of our classmates. Tomorrow I'm going to have model because my group hasn't gone yet. But that's okay; I'll still get to make one painting. :] It's kind of crazy intense sometimes, with our teacher yelling out "PAINT LIKE HELL!" whenever there's a minute left, haha, but I like it. And we're not supposed to focus on accurate colors but we have one tone for darks, one for midtones, and one for highlights, you know? I look forward to that class alot especially now that we're doing this crazy figure painting unit. Wednesday we had an extra period added in and other shortened classes so that student gov. could meet, so during that pd. and lunch I did my digital painting so it's finally finished! Then afterschool I did some homework and then around 7 my mom had friends over so I didn't want to be wandering around downstairs while they were there, so I went up to my room and spent about 2 whole hours sitting there painting. I'm making presents for friends of mine; I'm unsure what to paint for some people though. I don't know. I already finished two, so that's awesome! It makes me feel accomplished, haha. I haven't had much homework at all this week. Then came today! Another really awesome day.. we're working on philosophy projects for Western Civ in the library this week which was boring but pretty easy, even though I've been working with Sam and she wasn't there because of some in-school field trip for her theatre class. Lunch I had lo mein noodles, though! Left over from yesterday, made by the cafeteria. They weren't very Lo Mein-y, but they were still pretty good! French Laura wasn't there because she got her wisdom teeth out today. I hope she's okay. It was pretty cool though, because I volunteered to take my speaking test because nobody else wanted to go, and I like to get things over with. I got an A+ on that, which was nice! My teacher is seriously the best; he kept asking me questions in french about who I share my cigarettes with and all this random stuff that he teases me about, haha. Even though at the end of class I was pretty much scarred for the rest of my life because this one kid made a physical list of the girls with the nicest butts in our school, and a few of the girls in my class were sitting there like "oh I'm going to wear my booty-huggin' (haha their words, not mine) jeans tomorrow so I can be on the list" and "why would you not want to be on this list?!" and I looked over and I seriously told them "THATS SO FREAKIN CREEPY. WHY!?" and one of the girls even got up and walked across the room so the guy with the list could look at her butt. they then told me to get up because I supposedly had a nice butt, and I kind of wanted to know why they knew this or thought about my butt that much, but in any event, my butt stayed in my chair, and when I finally did get up to go talk to other people, I seriously contemplated walking backwards, haha. No, the guy with the list is a pretty funny kid and he wasn't being too seriously creepy about it, I just thought it was weird how people actually wanted to be on the list... Like, OH YES I GOT SEXUALLY OBJECTIFIED TODAY. Wonderful? Haha yeah maybe I'll wear amish cloaks to that class for the rest of my days now. Not really. ;] Just kidding! Yean that was funny and pretty disturbing at the same time. Then there was drawing, which is always fun just hanging out. Making art. Good stuff. Then that intense 15-min. painting again. Afterschool there was ART CLUB! And I made a contact sheet from my negatives but had to leave so maybe tomorrow I'll go in during lunch to the darkroom. But more likely I'll just wait until next Thursday at art club to actually enlarge a negative to make a photograph! Alright, this is really long now and it's past 10 so I think I'll go to bed. I am so ready for Christmas now. For a few days there I wasn't feeling too Christmas-y because of the warm weather we've been having but it's supposed to be in the low 30s as a high tomorrow and the next few days, so I find that to be very exciting. Plus, everybody has all their Christmas lights up. My mom said that tomorrow afternoon we might go cut down a tree and then on Monday we can put it up because I'll be at my dad's this weekend. The tree has to acclimate itself to the warm temperature inside my house anyways, so we always leave it in the basement for a day or two before setting it up in the living room. Alright. Today after art club I had nothing to do again so after dinner was when I finished those two paintings. After Christmas, I'll post pictures of them. Okay.
Tomorrow is Friday! I really should go to bed. Goodnight, everyone! :]

Let it go; let it Roll right off your Shoulder..

Tue Dec 1, 2009, 7:06 PM
So the whole "free journal skin" deal is over, but that's okay. I kind of like having my nice, neat, dA-matching journals back. So i guess I actually have alot to say but only fifteen minutes before I usually go to bed so I'll try not to talk too much about stupid little details. But I will end up saying them. I can't even talk right today. ANYWAYS. So my last journal was on Thursday. Thanksgiving morning. Well I had a good Thanksgiving. That afternoon, around 3, my mom, sister and I and the rest of our family went over to my uncle Brad's and had dinner, talked, all that Thanksgiving-y-ness. My one aunt made pilgrim hats and indian feather headdresses out of foam/felt stuff for everyone in the family, haha. And she was sitting there constructing them before dinner. That was funny. And then we wore them some while we ate really awesome food! And pumpkin pie. SO MUCH PIE. It's my favorite. Pie of any variety, really. Moving along, though. Listened to my ipod on the car ride back. For some reason, I like listening to my ipod in the car when I'm driving at night. Well, not driving. But being a passenger! :] I remember that being a good night, but I don't remember what I did when I got home. Probably just went to bed. Friday I didn't do anything/go anywhere, I don't think. Got to sleep in. Actually, that was the day I watched Cars, I think. Either that or Saturday, haha. But it was on TV and I couldn't not watch it. So I ended up watching the whole thing. OH! WAIT! Haha I remember- on Thursday night when we got home I caught the last fifteen minutes of The Wedding Singer, one of my other favorite movies, and it inspired me to learn that song that Adam Sandler plays at the end, "Grow Old With You"? It's so adorable. So I learned how to play that, which is awesome! And then later in the weekend I learned how to play Eleanor Rigby. Beatles, you know? And I actually have that one memorized now because it was so easy. Pretty! But depressing. Haha yeah.
Saturday night I watched some of the Incredibles. The second half. Oh and I remember what I did before that, too. Shocking. I did some homework; finished answering questions in this huge packet of philosophers while I listened to WORD fm on the radio. Odyssey wasn't on but they had the Top 20 Countdown of Christian songs or something. Some of them where kind of lame but others were pretty catchy. The #1 song was something by Casting Crowns, who I generally like, and there was another really good song by a band called 10th Avenue North, which I thought was a cool band name. And I love bands with good names, haha. So I should look more of their music up. But anyways! So yeah, then I finished some more self portraits for drawing class. Then came Sunday! Stayed at home all day; nothing spectacular. Worked on an RRJ for English class. I forgot to add my book to "reading to:" last journal but I updated it. "The Chosen". It's a classic, but a really good book, actually. I just don't like writing huge papers about it like I have to. But anyways! So Sunday at 4 we went to church for band practice, and nobody was there, so we left and then came back again at quarter till five. My sister and I were the only singers to show up again, but as always the main music/band guy, Willie, the guitarist, too, sings so that was cool. Plus, Chris, the drummer didn't show up so there was this girl who I didn't know playing the bongos, haha. But even though we only practiced for ten minutes, it turned out well. The absence of Chris' crashing bass and cymbals allowed for Caeli and I to be heard, haha. Which usually doesn't happen, even if there are four or five girls, sometimes. But yeah, towards the end of the mass I could actually hear myself singing in the speakers and it shocked me. My sister said that she actually saw me take a step backwards when I realized that people could hear me. But my mom is kind of big with music stuff and she said that we did well, so I believe her. She wouldn't lie about that. Or anything else, for that matter. Haha ANYWAYS yeah but two women actually came up after mass and told everyone in the band that we did an incredible job, which had never happened before. So that was cool. :] Plus I saw Nikki and Alex so that was fun. Monday! It was our last day off of school for Thanksgiving break.
I slept in, as per usual, and then around one Nikki picked me up and took me to the store so that I could secretly buy my mom a Christmas present while she was working, and I got one for my sister, too. And my mom never found out, haha. That was so awesome of Nikki to drive me. Even though my mom called and asked when Nikki was coming over and I had to lie about it and I'm a horrible liar so I was so afraid she would find out.. but she didn't. SUCCESS! Alright. So I get to wrap those presents now. I love wrapping presents for people. Yeah so then we came back to my house and I taught her how to play Away in a Manger on the piano, haha. I realized, when teaching her, that not everyone knows how to play the piano. It sounds like a dumb thing for me to say, but I guess I've played it for so long that it's a *foreign concept* to me that not everybody can play the piano. Hm. It's almost like not knowing how to speak English, but then again, NOT EVERYBODY SPEAKS ENGLISH. It's just one of those things that if I think about too hard it's just.. crazy. Ugh my sister is getting all annoyed and saying TIME FOR BED. Sheesh. She stays up until about 11 IMing her friends every day. What is this?! Okay. Yeah then Kait came over and we just talked about random stuff and then at 5 they left. I ate dinner; did some more art stuff; went to bed. I couldn't fall asleep until seriously midnight, though, since I had been sleeping in so much. Then Tuesday, today! I guess I will explain today.. tomorrow. I'll really try to write again tomorrow just so I can talk about today; since it was a really good day. Okay. Goodnight everyone. :]

Journal Entry: Thu Nov 26, 2009, 9:27 AM

Hey everyone! This is shocking.. I haven't written a journal on here in over two weeks. Fifteen days that I haven't written about! Usually since I missed so much this journal would be long but it's so much time that I don't think I can outline.. or remember.. everything that has happened, haha. So yeah. That last journal that I wrote was on Wednesday. the 11th. The day after that was a half day.. but I don't remember what I did, haha. The next day there was no school, but I remember it being a good day. Actually wait! I do remember that Thursday. It was nice out. I went over to Becky's house around 6 or 7 and we hung out and watched The Proposal, haha. I'd already seen it in theatres this past summer but it was funny. I got back home around 10 and I had to work on my watercolor painting; we could either have turned it during the school half day or we had the option of coming in on Friday to turn it in before noon. I'm a slow painter, so I opted for having that extra time. Well, on that Thursday after Becky's I stayed up really late to finish painting it. When I say really late, I mean that I literally went to bed at 4am after finishing my painting and getting a shower. Yeah I felt like if I had to use any more watercolors I would rip my eyes out, haha. So yeah! Friday I did nothing.. that weekend my sister and I were at our dad's. Don't remember doing anything exciting. Sunday there was church/youth group. And band. My sister and I were the only singers that showed up that day so we had to sing all alone, but then Holly Joy sang with us, too, and the guitar/bass/drums are loud enough that you can't hear us too well. So I wasn't even nervous, shockingly. :] The 16-20 was a full school week, during which nothing too crazy happened that I remember. Wednesday was busy; afterschool I stayed to pick up cookie dough and then my mom, sister and I had to drive around to a billion places dropping off our fundraising cookie dough. Then that night around 6 I went to the school for the annual Music Makers concert; it's the fifth one I've participated in. We just wear school colors and jeans and we sing one of our choir's songs and then all the kids there, grades 5-12 sing the Music Makers song together and then we went home! Thursday I stayed afterschool for art club and I developed my black and white negatives!! :] Let's just say that film photography is.. much different. I really liked doing it, but I'm kind of really clumsy and so was my developing-partner, Jess. Haha she spilled half a jug of chemical fixer on me, haha. Luckily it was diluted and it was just all over my jeans and boots, so I didn't die or anything. xD Her negatives came out really weird because of something that happened wrong in her camera with the film roll getting stuck. Some of my negatives worked but some look like they didn't; it'll be interesting to see them next thursday at art club when we get to enlarge them. Friday the 20th Nikki's mom picked up her, Laura and me and we went straight to the movie theatre to see... New Moon.. haha. I actually didn't really want to see it, I wanted to see The Blind Side, which also came out that day, but it was the most convenient way for Nikki's mom to drive us to the church retreat afterwards. Yep so we went to the 3:15 showing of the movie. It was better than Twilight but I still thought it was cheesy and some of the acting not very well done. But in any event! Then we ate pizza, and Nikki and I drove an hour away to the church retreat. We actually weren't too late; all we missed was a gangster dance off which I would definitely not have participated in anyways, haha.
Oh, I guess I should start a new paragraph. It's all running together again! Yeah so I was at the church retreat all weekend; we came home on Sunday around 2pm. I actually think it's one of the best ones I'd been on. It was at a campground and we were staying in this cabin so we stayed up until almost 2am both days; afterwards I was so exhausted I almost fell asleep on the bus ride home. So much stuff went on I can't even describe it! There were different "sessions" with speakers and just quietness sometimes and then crazy stuff others. On Saturday we had this really small dinner of just bread and soup, but then there was this big "carnival" (the weekend had an amusement park theme) where there was really awesome amusement park-ish food, like funnel cakes, corn dogs, tacos, everything. So yeah! And I got to hang out with alot of people I hadn't seen lately. ^^ Sunday afternoon I spent writing an essay and began making my board game for biology that week while I watched the very beginning of The Patriot on television. Then came what was this past week! Monday.. nothing extraordinary. I stayed up until 11pm, which is late for me on a school night, to finish my board game, which I was so proud of! Most people just do a pathway, kind of Candy Land style game with questions about mitosis, but I made mine like the game Clue, but instead of somebody dying it was finding out who cheated on the test! And then instead of Prof. Plum, Col. Mustard, etc. I made little characters: Tyrone, Sam, Lateesha, Jesse, etc., and I drew little cartoon characters for each playing piece, haha. On Tuesday next week we get to play the games in class so that'll be cool. Tuesday I visited my dad. Wednesday (yesterday) the 25th there was school and then I visited my dad AGAIN since I wouldn't be seeing him today. Oh!
And this is really random, but last Friday and this past Monday my group presented our lesson on specific irregular verbs in French and we did really well, which made me happy. We got alot of bonus for random things, which was cool. Oh, and then in French on Wednesday, it was really funny!.. see, my french teacher is really awesome, but for some reason he always makes fun of me for smoking and calls me "Cigar Lady" and random stuff. I definitely have never smoked or anything like that, but sometimes I would come to class late cause I had to go to the bathroom and he would say "Oh you're late cause you were smoking in the bathroom again!", haha. So he had the attendance on his computer projected up on the board while he was marking people present or absent or whatever, and he has this message up to the principal of our school, and he starts off something like "I'm sorry, but I've just come to the end of my rope on this attendance matter. Joni comes to class late every single day reeking of smoke and the other day I confronted her about it and she called me a "fatazz" (haha he spelled it that way) and I know I am fat and middle aged but I am NOT willing to accept "fatazz" as a speech impediment. I would really appreciate it if you could come down today during seventh period and take her "skinnyazz" to CSA. (which is like the detention room). The message was MUCH longer than that, I just don't remember all the specifics, haha. But then he clicked SEND and a message popped up that said "Attendance Succesfully Submitted", and by that point the whole class had been watching and the kid sitting next to me, Christian, had narrated the whole message and we were all like WHAT!? And everybody kept saying "Aww poor Joni!" And I actually wasn't that worried because if I really was sent to CSA I would just say that it was a joke and obviously I didn't reek of cigarette smoke, but in any event, Mr. Joyce was like "Joni, are you worried?" And then he explained that the message isn't submitted unless the student is marked as absent, and obviously I wasn't marked as absent. But that was so funny... French is the best, haha. And in class that day we just played a game where the names of movies in French would come up and we'd have to give the name in English. For some it was hard to guess. But a fun game.
So yeah! On Tues. and Weds. night at my dad's I listened to Adventures in Odyssey on the radio again, haha. Good show. And then I would draw the characters or just random stuff while I listened. The other day in History I drew Scoops from Wordgirl teenager-ized. Haha sadly enough, I really do like that show, even if it is for fifth graders. Moving on! Yep. So last night I was so exhausted I got to sleep in until ten this morning. :] I just listened to my ipod for awhile. It's kind of overcast out today but it usually is here on Thanksgiving. I watched some of the Macy's Day Parade, which was nice and made me feel Christmasy and wonderful. Had four pieces of toast. I will not eat any more now so I'll have room for dinner tonight! And then I wrote this neverending journal which has seriously taken an hour to write. I'm not sure about that but it's probably pretty close. And now the Purina Dog Show is on which I might watch for awhile and draw or something. Sorry I haven't been on here much lately; I've seriously had such a load of school work and art projects to do. But I draw ALL the time now, and I think I've improved, which is good. :] I'm planning on maybe painting a few pictures for people for Christmas? Although I can't really do too many cause that would take forever... But yep! Alright. Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! Later this weekend I'll be able to decorate for Christmas! :]

Pretty Pictures.
